For Those Who Plan...
You'll want to understand where modules will be located and how many you'll
need.
- You must order one - and only one- Master Unit. It needs a phone jack
(with long distance service) and it needs to plug into AC power. The Master
Unit comes with a Motion Sensor that will protect an area 20-30 feet in front
of it.
- Your NetWatchman detects motion. Put it in high traffic locations usually
near the corner or side of the room. You don't need to protect very many rooms
- maybe just a single room - as long as the bad guy is likely to walk in that
area.
- You can protect additional rooms by adding a NetWatchman Status Display +
Whole Room Motion Sensor (order those 2 items for each additional room). The
Status Display also requires an AC outlet (but no phone jack)
- The consumer-installable version of NetWatchman does not permit pets in
the protected areas.
- The Motion Sensor should not be aimed at point heat sources such as
fireplace, water heater, car, stove, etc unless you know those things will be
cold when the alarm is armed. Keep at least 8 ft away from heat/cool vents.
All NetWatchman Modules have the requirement that they be indoors, dry
location, at normal living temperatures (for example, not the attic).
